Los Angeles,Last month, Los Angeles Refining Vice President Brad Levi was on hand to announce Marathon Petroleum’s partnership with Los Angeles City Councilman Joe Buscaino and the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks for the revitalization of the Wilmington Town Square Park. MPC’s pledge of $1 million was announced in conjunction with the Councilman’s State of the District address.
“We are proud to be part of a project that will benefit the community of Wilmington, or as we all know it ‘The Heart of the Harbor’, that will capture and celebrate the historical roots of its community,” said Levi.
The Wilmington Town Square Park was originally founded in 1900 and is in need of an overhaul. The new facility, scheduled for completion in 2020, will include a pavilion, expanded seating areas, with additional trees and enhanced landscaping.
