Marathon Petroleum’s Los Angeles refinery was recently recognized as Business of the Year for Los Angeles County Supervisor District 2 as part of the fifth annual Business Makes LA County Work Awards, presented by the Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed).

BizFed is a coalition of more than 240 business organizations across Los Angeles County that advocates for policies and partnerships that support economic growth, job creation and a strong regional business climate. The organization recognized Marathon Petroleum for its continued impact across the region.

“Marathon’s Los Angeles refinery continues to demonstrate its dedication to the communities and region it serves through workforce development, local partnerships and ongoing community investment,” said BizFed Executive Vice President Mitchell Vieyra. “We’re proud to recognize the refinery team and everyone who contributes to its continued positive impact across Los Angeles County.”

In 2025, the refinery supported more than 226 local organizations, invested over $2.2 million in community programs, and provided volunteer and youth development opportunities throughout the region as part of its ongoing investments in local communities and workforce development.
