Stakeholder Engagement
Building Strong Relationships
At MPC, stakeholder engagement is guided by our commitment to creating shared value with our stakeholders including the communities where we operate. By building strong relationships and maintaining open dialogue, we gain valuable insights, address concerns and identify opportunities to maximize our positive impact.
Our engagement programs support ongoing communications with local stakeholders, evaluate outcomes and provide meaningful opportunities for feedback.

Our Approach
We seek to understand our stakeholders' priorities, perspectives and concerns, and incorporate their feedback into our business strategies and decision-making. As our business and stakeholder expectations evolve, we continuously enhance our approach to engagement.
Stakeholder engagement plans are in place for 100% of our refineries and owned and operated renewable fuels facilities. These plans provide a framework for meaningful, proactive engagement tailored to local community needs. Through ongoing dialogue, surveys and other feedback mechanisms, we regularly evaluate stakeholder priorities and emerging topics to keep our strategies relevant, responsive and effective.

Active Engagement
Our community hotlines are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring neighbors of our facilities and landowners along our pipeline rights of way have a convenient way to ask questions, provide feedback and report concerns.
Community Advisory Panels (CAPs), established at all major refining assets, serve as important forums for stakeholder engagement. Composed of community representatives from diverse backgrounds, CAPs provide opportunities to discuss MPC's operations, projects and community initiatives, while allowing members to ask questions, share feedback, raise concerns and identify opportunities for partnership.
Respecting Indigenous Cultures
MPC is committed to engaging, communicating and partnering with Tribal Nations and Indigenous communities where we operate. We recognize and respect the unique cultures, governments, languages and traditions of each tribe and value the perspectives they bring. Through meaningful engagement, we seek to build trusted relationships and create shared value.
Education and training are important components of our Tribal Affairs Working Group's efforts. We equip employees who engage with tribal communities with a greater understanding of tribal history and governance, cultural perspectives and communication practices, as well as the history of our relationships and community investment partnerships.
We actively seek Indigenous perspectives on safety and the protection of cultural and environmental resources to help inform project planning and operational activities. MPC's Tribal Stakeholder Engagement Plans guide our interactions with tribes near our operations and communities with strong cultural connections to the areas where we operate.
