Recently, the MPC Mexico team, local dignitaries and business partners celebrated the 50th ARCO® station that has been opened in under a year in the state of Sonora in Mexico. More than 100 people and various VIPs attended the event including: Don Templin, President, Refining, Marketing and Supply, Marathon Petroleum; Célida Teresa López Cárdenas Mayor of Hermosillo, and representatives from the state government of Sonora.

In his remarks, Don Templin stated: “Today, we commemorate the achievement of opening 50 ARCO® stations in the beautiful State of Sonora. We should all be proud of this accomplishment. Through this site and the other more than 130 ARCO® stations across Northwestern Mexico, ARCO® provides TOP TIER™, high-quality fuel to the consumers in Mexico.”

Hermosillo Mayor, Célida López, also spoke at the event and thanked Marathon Petroleum for its work in Mexico and its collaboration with local businesses.

Our local dealers and business partners, such as ProFuels, act as the face of our brand and have enabled this success through their various customer experience efforts. Consumers continue to respond well to the introduction of the ARCO® brand. Volumes at these stations have grown significantly, driven by the TOP TIER™ fuel and the superior experience the stations offer. The MPC leadership that attended, met with the station operators and thanked them for their great work.

Prior to and at the opening, the team worked to engage local media, resulting in local media coverage that highlighted ARCO’s growth in the state.
