Sounds at Dawn and Dusk
Periodically, neighbors of our Robinson refinery may hear brief, loud sounds around dawn and dusk. The sounds safely deter birds from entering the refinery without harming them and reflect our continued commitment to environmental stewardship. If you have questions or concerns, call 618-544-2121 and ask for Human Resources.

In Robinson/Crawford County, there are two warning systems designed to inform residents and refinery personnel about emergencies; the Refinery Warning System and the Community Warning System.

Key Locations
Recognizing the distinct warning system tones allow both, our community and refinery personnel to be prepared to respond appropriately in the event of an emergency.
The warning sirens are placed in key locations:
- MPC Robinson Refinery
(3 locations) - Quail Creek Country Club
- Robinson City Park (south side)
- Crawford Memorial Hospital
- Oblong
(near grade school & city park west side) - Flat Rock
(near the water tower) - Palestine
(next to municipal building) - Hutsonville
(near the firehouse) - West York
(near the firehouse)
