The Anacortes refinery hosted its annual Stuff the Bus event to support the Helping Hands Food Bank Cutting Hunger on the Weekends (C.H.O.W.) program. -
This year, refinery employees, in collaboration with the Contractor Safety Council, Marathon transport drivers, the Anacortes Schools Foundation and many business partners, raised $35,000 and donated 764 pounds of food. -

Anacortes refinery employees, contractors and interns volunteered for the annual Adopt-a-Highway Spring Cleanup. This is the third year that Marathon Petroleum has sponsored a 2-mile section of the highway near the refinery. -
At the annual Adopt-a-Highway Spring Cleanup, 18 refinery employees, contractors and interns collected 82 bags of trash from a 2-mile section of the road near the refinery. -
Our Anacortes refinery employees completed the Ski to Sea 7-leg multisport relay race from Mt. Baker Ski Area to Bellingham Bay in Washington. -

Community Advisory Panel
The Anacortes Community Advisory Group was created in 2013. It is an independent advisory group comprised of residents from the areas surrounding the refinery who serve as an interface between the management of the Anacortes refinery and the local communities. The group meets and works with MPC leaders to learn about the refinery’s operations and plans, while communicating to MPC questions and concerns from the local communities.
MPC is committed to doing business in a way that facilitates community involvement, two-way communication and mutual respect. While the group will not be asked to approve or reject any actions taken by MPC, the group is an important advisory group and MPC actively responds to their recommendations and concerns.
