Midstream GIS and Digital teams received the 2026 PODS Migration Award in recognition of successfully completing a large-scale migration of MPLX pipeline Geographic Information System (GIS) data to the Pipeline Open Data Standard (PODS), the industry’s leading data model.

The award recognizes organizations that successfully move pipeline data to PODS, which helps improve data consistency, governance, interoperability and long-term usability, while providing a foundation for future GIS capabilities.

“MPLX’s migration to PODS 7 is a strong example of pipeline data modernization done the right way,” said Jeff Allen, Esri’s Pipeline Industry Lead and board member of the PODS Association. “The team moved from a complex legacy environment into a modern, governed data foundation that improves data quality, supports better workflows, and positions MPLX for long-term scalability. Just as important, this effort reflects strong internal leadership, a dedicated team, and a real commitment to the PODS community.”

The NG&NGL Services GIS and Digital teams modernized a long-standing data environment used to manage pipeline system information. The new data model provides a more unified, governed and future-ready data foundation for MPLX and future technology initiatives.
