MPC employees shopping for and boxing up care packages for deployed service members

Earlier this month, MPC employees at a region meeting in Columbus, Ohio, packed and shipped 29 HeroBox care packages for an Army unit in South Korea, an Air Force unit deployed in the Middle East and personal Army friends deployed in Afghanistan.

The project was completed by employees in MPC’s asphalt marketing division. Members of the group contributed more than $1,000, and a committee added an additional $500 to purchase items for and ship the boxes.

“A few team members have served or have family members currently serving and thought this would be an impactful opportunity, especially with the holidays right around the corner,” said Kristi Mauss, advanced marketing analyst, who participated in the service project.

HeroBox is an organization that supports deployed, injured, aging and homeless veterans. Its mission is to ensure that every American hero receives the physical and moral support they deserve.
