Recently, Galveston Bay Refinery's (GBR) Engineering Department participated in a day of service and community outreach, helping people who are still recovering from last year’s devastating Hurricane Harvey.
In conjunction with a local charitable organization, members of the Engineering Department worked in teams to deliver and set up furniture for 18 families. Coincidentally, the outreach effort took place exactly one year from the start of the storm.
“We are very proud of our Engineering employees for lending a helping hand to those who are still feeling the impact of Hurricane Harvey one year later,” said Jennifer Simmons, human resources supervisor. “Some of these people still don’t have their homes and lives back to normal.”
