Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC) produces 100, 200, and 325 slack wax at our Catlettsburg, KY refinery. These waxes are used in many applications including: oriented strand board (OSB) and particle board for the construction industry, concrete curing agents, manufacture of inks and dyes and for further refining into candles and coatings. MPC has arranged to make these products available through a select group of resellers.

Production Information
Wax is produced in the solvent dewaxing process in Catlettsburg’s base oil production plant.

Transportation
100 Slack Wax is shipped by barge only.
200 and 325 Slack Waxes are shipped by rail and truck.
