Marathon is one of the largest wholesale (unbranded) suppliers of gasoline and distillate to resellers and end-users within its 21 state marketing area. Sales are made through approximately 65 equity and 70 exchange/throughput terminals located in Marathon’s marketing area. Independent chain retailers, unbranded jobbers, airlines, transportation industry, railroads, marine companies and utilities form the core of Marathon’s wholesale customer base.
