Marathon Petroleum Corporation's headquarters is located in Findlay.
In his book, "The Rating Guide to America's Small Cities," author G. Scott Thomas rated Findlay as the best overall micropolitan area in Ohio. Findlay is the quintessential Midwestern community with a classic "Main Street" including a courthouse listed on the National Historic Register. Findlay has a population of nearly 40,000 within the corporate limits and a county population of more than 70,000. Findlay is located in Northwest Ohio along I-75, approximately 45 miles south of Toledo and within two hours of the metro areas of Columbus and Detroit.
By proclamation of Congress, Findlay enjoys the designation of "Flag City USA." MPC employees live both in Findlay and in many neighboring towns. Findlay is also home to the University of Findlay, and Dietsch Bros., a local ice cream and candy company, is a regional destination. Findlay offers community theatre, museums, and numerous shopping and dining opportunities. Recreational opportunities exist in a well developed park system, an indoor ice skating rink, several golf courses, and premier baseball/softball diamonds.
