Human Resources

Human Resources Consultants (HRCs) and interns are exposed to various aspects of the department including recruiting, compensation, retention, training and development, benefits and more. Human Resources Consultants and interns can have a generalist or specialist role. In a generalist role, HRCs are the primary contact for several hundred employees, supervisors and managers. Consultants are knowledgeable of MPC's policies, processes and procedures; and provide counseling and assistance to their assigned client groups. In a specialist role, HRCs work in any one of the Centers of Excellence (COE). COEs include: Recruiting, Compensation, Organizational Development and Benefits.

Projects may include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating MPC's intern/co-op program
  • Researching and recommending process improvements for special projects
  • Defining and delivering team development programs
  • Providing organizational support and managing change

Internships available for: Summer

Basic Qualifications:

  • Masters in Human Resources Development/Management, Industrial/Labor Relations or other related degree
  • 3.0 minimum overall GPA
